Nintendo Switch 2 games can take up a surprising amount of space, and running out of storage in the middle of building your game library is no fun. Fortunately, Amazon has a deal on Samsung’s P9 Express microSD Express card that gives you more room for downloads without paying full price.
For a limited time, the Samsung P9 Express 512GB is $99 at Amazon, down from $149.99. That saves you $50.99, or about 34%, and the e purchase also comes with an offer for 90 days of Amazon Music, giving you another perk alongside the storage upgrade.
There’s also a smaller option for gamers who don’t need quite as much space. The 256GB version is down to $47.99, compared with $79.99, saving you $32.
Stop Deleting Games to Make Room for New Ones With This Nitendo Switch Upgrade
When upgrading storage on Nintendo’s newest console, you can’t use just any microSD card. The Switch 2 requires a microSD Express card to store and play digital games. Older cards from the original Switch won’t work for that purpose, although you can still import screenshots and videos from them.
Samsung’s P9 Express is built for the newer standard and offers sequential read speeds of up to 800 MB/s. That gives you a card designed for the faster storage interface supported by the Switch 2.
Here’s what you get with the P9 Express:
- 512GB of extra storage: Keep more downloaded games and downloadable content installed without constantly deciding what to delete.
- Read speeds up to 800 MB/s: The faster interface is designed to help with game loading and file transfers on compatible hardware. Actual speeds depend on the device and workload.
- Dynamic Thermal Guard: Samsung’s thermal management technology helps control temperatures during use.
- Six types of protection: The card is designed to withstand hazards such as water, temperature extremes and physical impacts, with a three-year limited warranty.
- Compatibility beyond the Switch 2: The card can also work with other devices that support microSD Express, while backward compatibility allows use in supported older microSD devices at their supported speeds.
The 800 MB/s figure is a maximum sequential read speed, not a guarantee that every game will load four times faster.
Save on the 512GB or 256GB Card Today
If your Switch 2 library is growing quickly, the 512GB model is the more comfortable choice. Larger games can eat into storage in a hurry, and the extra capacity gives you more freedom to keep several big downloads installed at once.
At $99, you’re paying about $0.19 per gigabyte. The 256GB model at $47.99 works out to roughly $0.19 per gigabyte as well, so the larger card offers about twice the space for a little more than twice the price.
Both discounts are worth a look if you’ve been putting off a storage upgrade.
And don’t overlook the music offer. The 512GB deal includes 90 days of Amazon Music, subject to the promotion’s eligibility and subscription terms. Check the offer displayed at checkout, including any automatic renewal details, before completing your purchase.
