MeTV Toons is ramping up the holiday cheer early this year with an expansive weekend block of classic animated specials and movies under its returning “’Tis the Season for Toons” banner. The network, dedicated exclusively to classic animation, confirmed the programming will air every Saturday at 6 p.m. ET/5 p.m. CT and Sunday at 5 p.m. ET/4 p.m. CT from November 7 through December 21, with additional unique schedules planned for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
The official announcement, posted on the network’s site on October 31, 2026, declared, “There’s magic in the air as the holidays approach, and that means MeTV Toons is ready to get holly and jolly with ’Tis the Season for Toons! Every weekend in November and December, we will show animated holiday specials.” The block mixes longtime Hanna-Barbera favorites with rarer specials, Dr. Seuss adaptations, and surprise titles drawn from the network’s deep library.
The schedule opens strongly on Saturday, November 7, with a Dr. Seuss and Thanksgiving-focused night: The Thanksgiving That Almost Wasn’t at 6 p.m., followed by The Cat in the Hat, Horton Hears a Who!, and The Lorax. Sunday, November 8, brings A Flintstone Christmas, the feature film FernGully: The Last Rainforest, and Christmas shorts. Subsequent weekends spotlight heavy doses of The Flintstones (A Flintstone Christmas Carol, A Flintstone Family Christmas, and the classic “Christmas Flintstone” episode), Yogi’s First Christmas, A Jetsons Christmas Carol, Smurfs holiday specials including ’Tis the Season to Be Smurfy and The Smurfs Christmas Special, and Cave Kids Christmas.
December programming escalates with Casper’s First Christmas, The Little Troll Prince, The Town That Santa Forgot, a Super Mario Bros. holiday double feature (“Koopa Klaus” and “The Night Before Cave Christmas”), Sonic Christmas Blast, Christmas Comes to Pac-Land, A Miser Brothers’ Christmas, The Story of Santa Claus (featuring Ed Asner and Betty White), A Very Bugs Bunny Christmas, Scooby-Doo holiday episodes, The Stingiest Man in Town, and the 1971 Academy Award-winning A Christmas Carol. The network has also teased Thanksgiving and Black Friday specials alongside the main block.
As the only major TV destination devoted solely to classic cartoons, MeTV Toons is positioning the multi-week event as a full-season celebration of ’60s-through-’90s holiday animation nostalgia. Viewers can catch the block over-the-air on local affiliates or via streaming services that carry the channel. Full details and any late additions continue to appear on metvtoons.com and the network’s social channels. With the first specials airing this coming weekend, fans of Yogi, Fred Flintstone, Bugs Bunny, and other toon icons have plenty of reasons to settle in for a holly jolly November and early December.
