Best Drama Actor is living up to its name, as the final slot in the Golden Globes marquee category remains up in the air amid a tight three-way race.
According to the current Gold Derby odds, Andrew Scott (Elsinore), Matt Damon (The Odyssey), Robert Pattinson (Primetime), Pedro Pascal (Behemoth!), and Sebastian Stan (Fjord) are projected to be five of the six nominees.

Below them are three actors whose odds are all on the upswing.
Anthony Ippolito is holding onto the No. 6 position for his uncanny portrayal of a young Sylvester Stallone fighting to get his screenplay made in I Play Rocky. Although the film’s worldwide release isn’t until Nov. 20 (it opens in limited on Nov. 6), he has been the subject of positive buzz as the film plays the festival circuit — next up he’ll receive the Breakthrough Award at the SCAD Savannah Film Festival on Oct. 29. He’s seen his chances climb 11 percentage points over the past five days to hold a 58% chance at a nomination.
Veteran actor John Turturro is lurking at No. 7 as his acclaimed indie The Only Living Pickpocket in New York enters limited release. He has seen his odds rise 3 percentage points and now has a 32% chance at a nod.
Coming up fast behind him is Jaafar Jackson, who has drawn rave reviews for his transformative portrayal of his uncle, the King of Pop, in Michael. Jaafar has seen his odds rise 10 points and now has almost a 14% chance at a Globes nomination after the film was forced to compete in the drama categories instead of comedy/musical, where it had tried to submit.
We still have lots of time for the field to take shape. Voting for the 2027 Golden Globe nominations begins Nov. 16 and the final nominees will be unveiled on Dec. 7.
