David Charvet is sharing a rare comment about his ex-wife Brooke Burke, notably the promise he made her before becoming a dad.
The 54-year-old Baywatch alum talked about his decision to quit acting during a visit to the Sibling Revelry podcast, in an episode published on Tuesday (November 3).
“I promised Brooke at the time that I would be a very present father,” he shared. “I didn’t have that. I had a great stepdad that was always around. My real father and I didn’t have that kind of relationship.”
Apart from Baywatch, David was also known for starring in Melrose Place before he started to take a step back from the spotlight.

He said he wanted to do better for their. He and his ex-wife share daughter Heaven Rain, 19, and son Shaya Braven, 18.
David continued, “I wanted to be the first person that they saw every morning. I wanted to be the last person that they heard at night before they went to bed. I wanted to be at every single event because I remember sometimes being in a situation where I was at my own events and, you know, I would look around and there wasn’t certain people there, which was tough.”
