At 99, the Oscars are trying to attract a younger audience by welcoming social media creator Reece Feldman as its digital ambassador.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced on Monday that he has been tapped as the official social media ambassador and red carpet correspondent for the 99th Oscars in 2027. Feldman’s duties are to participate in key events throughout the awards season, including the Academy Museum Gala, Governors Awards, nominees luncheon, and the Oscars red carpet.
“Every movie lover’s dream is to feel close to the Oscars, and my goal is to bring them as close as I possibly can to that experience,” said Feldman. “It is cinema’s most celebrated night, and I’m honored to represent fans and supporters of the filmic arts leading up to and through the ceremony.”
Feldman’s film-focused social media personality, @guywithamoviecamera, has amassed more than 3 million followers across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. His platform offers behind-the-scenes access to the entertainment industry through content from film sets, premieres, and awards shows. He was named to Forbes‘ 30 Under 30 list as one of the leading creators in the social media space.
