After finally getting out their first Traitor in The Traitors: New Blood last week, coming into Episode 9 of NBC’s reality competition series, the Faithfuls are riding high. Unfortunately, that doesn’t last long.
**Spoilers ahead for Season 1, Episode 9 of The Traitors: New Blood, streaming on Peacock Friday morning**
As mentioned above, Episode 8 of the series finally gave the remaining Faithfuls their first banishment of a Traitor, Tomica Adams, after weeks of tossing fellow Faithfuls from the game at the roundtable. Given their excitement over finally catching one of the players trying to sow chaos in the game, Episode 9 (“Playing Chess”) begins with the Faithful feeling good. Things quickly turn ominous, however, as host Alan Cumming announces that the group will join him for a toast outside of the castle to mark the momentous occasion.
Outside, Cumming informs the group that the Traitors have chosen to poison one of the goblets sitting in front of the remaining players, but that any player can swap their cup with another willing player. If a Traitor ends up with the poisoned goblet, no one is murdered that evening. But if the cup with poison does manage to stay in the hands of a Faithful, the murder will be in full effect. So, does it end up working out for the game’s two Traitors? And if yes, who ends up getting the axe?
We’ve got the answers you’re looking for regarding the murder in Episode 9 of The Traitors: New Blood. Here’s everything you need to know about who went home and why…
Who Was Murdered In The Traitors: New Blood Episode 9?
While everyone suspected that chief Traitor-hunter (and exceedingly suspicious Faithful) Victor Vollbrechthausen might be the target of the Traitors during this kill, it actually ended up being social media personality Morgan Cook who received the deadly cup. In the episode, Fites and Vanella explain that while they wish they could go for Vollbrechthausen, it would ultimately bring too much suspicion on Vanella, who Vollbrechthausen has been calling a Traitor since “FruitGate.”
