Hubert de la Bouillerie, a film editor with credits including Woodstock, Rollerball, The Witches of Eastwick and Tango & Cash, died Aug. 8 in Los Angeles, his friend Robert Folk announced. He was 75.

Folk noted that de la Bouillerie was the film editor on the Warner Bros. lot whom longtime studio chiefs Bob Daly and Terry Semel most relied on to review the final edit on “the vast majority of features” that came out of Burbank in the 1980s and ’90s.

De la Bouillerie also did some directing; he helmed the 1996 Showtime telefilm The Right to Remain Silent, featuring Lea Thompson and Amanda Plummer; the science-fiction feature The Apocalypse (1997); and a 2005 episode of ABC’s Boston Legal.

He received an additional editing credit on Woodstock (1970) — Martin Scorsese and Thelma Schoonmaker were among the credited film editors on the Michael Wadleigh’s landmark documentary — and served as an assistant editor on Norman Jewison’s Rollerball (1975).

At Warners, he was film editor on George Miller’s The Witches of Eastwick (1987), Police Academy 5: Assignment: Miami Beach (1988), Police Academy 6: City Under Siege (1989), the Sylvester Stallone and Kurt Russell-starring Tango & Cash (1989) and Jewison’s Other People’s Money (1991).

Hubert Charles de la Bouillerie was born on Jan. 28, 1951, the eldest child of Baron Henri de la Bouillerie and Elinor Marcus. His paternal family had longstanding ties to the Loire Valley and to the grand Château de Villandry, and he attended the renowned French school École des Roches.

In more than three decades of work in Hollywood, his feature editing credits included Krush Groove (1985), Highlander II: The Quickening (1991), Mo’ Money (1992), The Harvest (1993), Blank Check (1994) and Celtic Pride (1996).

He also wrote a 2012 gothic novel, Of Love and Evil: The Birth, and was an accomplished photographer.

Survivors include his children, Jacqueline and Alexandre, and his siblings, Annie, Caroline, Juliette, Diane, Helie and Alban.

He was married twice, to Hilary Saltzman, daughter of James Bond film producer Harry Saltzman, and to Hollywood Pictures executive and producer Debbie Robins de la Bouillerie; they were together from 1991 until her death in 2015 at age 58.
