The Tulsa King Season 4 premiere ended on a sad note — spoilers ahead — as Dwight (Sylvester Stallone) learned that a plane carrying Margaret (Dana Delany) and Governor Cal Thresher (Neal McDonough) crashed into the Pacific Ocean.
The death of Margaret will not only heavily impact Dwight, but it’ll also lead to different dynamics between various characters. During the second episode of the season (“Blind Rooster”), we learn that Bodhi (Martin Starr) had a wife and daughter who were killed in a car crash long before Dwight came to Tulsa. Starr recently spoke with Decider about how Bodhi’s revelation and the shifting relationship between Dwight and Bodhi.
“It was something that we toyed with revealing earlier in the show,” Starr told Decider. “When I first met with [showrunner Terence Winter] about this role five or six years ago, one of the things we discussed was the mentor/mentee dynamic between Dwight and Bodhi as time went on. So, it’s really interesting to see their roles shift briefly after the plane crash. Bodhi wants to be a guide for Dwight when he’s struggling. It’s always fun to flip a relationship on its head and find deeper complexities in how those two characters connect.”
