Jen Affleck‘s divorce filing did not come as a shock to fans of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
What was surprising to some was that she made the decision to pull the trigger mid-pregnancy.
Now, in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight on Friday, she reveals why it was important to do so sooner than later.
“I’m about to be postpartum. I knew I needed to make the decision now and not while I was postpartum. When you’re postpartum, it’s the most vulnerable stage of having children, and I was worried that if I waited until then, I would continue the cycle. Also, rewatching the show made me realize, man, I have trained myself to forget. I have trained myself to survive. And the show made me realize, no, I’m not forgetting this time.”
Yeah, after Jen revealed his comments about her postpartum body in 2022, we can certainly understand why she felt like it’d be better to fly solo this time.
As we reported, Jen recently shared a video to her TikTok of Zac telling her:
“your boobs are literally like… Your tits are sagging all over.”
When he got called out for it in the comments of his own divorce statement video, he said:
“This was a video from 2022. Obviously horrible and should have never been said. When I saw the video today I was absolutely shocked I had said that. I said a lot of horrible and hurtful things but I have tried my best to learn and grow”
And now Jen is trying her best to grow too… far, far away from married life!

Jen met a then-21-year-old Zac in 2018 on the Mormon dating app, Mutual. She was 18.
Sparks flew and they got engaged in 2019, marrying the same year. Unfortunately, the two experienced challenges over the years, and ultimately she decided it’s best to go their separate ways.
They share multiple children: Nora, 4, Lucas, 2, and Penelope, 1, and a fourth on its way. Jen is due to give birth either later this year or early next.
Wishing her a smooth third trimester, birth, and beyond.
