Turns out even the biggest stars in Hollywood are major fans of HBO‘s The Gilded Age! Blink partway through The Gilded Age Season 4 premiere, “Ring The Bells,” and you might have missed one of TV’s most iconic late night hosts and the star of this summer’s mega hit, The Odyssey, strolling past the van Rhijn and Russell residences…

**Spoilers for The Gilded Age Season 4 Episode 1 “Ring The Bells,” now streaming on HBO Max**

Yes, it’s true, and no, you’re not going crazy! HBO has confirmed to DECIDER that David Letterman and Matt Damon have brief cameos in The Gilded Age Season 4 Episode 1 “Ring the Bells.”

Eagle-eyed viewers would have caught the famous funnyman and major movie star walking across East 61st street at approximately 8 minutes and 44 seconds into the Season 4 premiere. Letterman and Damon’s big (small) moment comes directly after the emotional scene where the Hector, the Duke of Buckingham (Ben Lamb) is asked to choose between Gladys (Taissa Farmiga) and their baby back at Sidmouth in England and right before we notice armed guards outside the Russell mansion (and a telephone being set up inside).

While David Letterman is known for rocking a big, bushy beard these days, Matt Damon looks a little less like his usually clean shaven self. Both men are rocking quite the Gilded Age facial hair and both are dressed like proper gentlemen of the period.

Earlier this summer, Matt Damon and his Odyssey co-star Tom Holland were asked by Tom “TommyInnit” Simons about their favorite comfort watches on TV and Damon revealed he’s quite the fan of the HBO classics.

“I’m watching The Wire with my kids right now,” Damon said, before explaining that he’s been introducing his teenaged daughters to the HBO classic and AMC’s Breaking Bad. He then revealed he’s watching The Sopranos with another one of his teens.

“I like introducing them to some of the good long-form stuff,” he said.

Well, now we know that The Gilded Age is also on the Damon family’s list!
