The first half of 2026 was busy for Cillian Murphy fans. After social media desperately pleaded for his return to the horror franchise, Murphy’s Jim made a crowd-pleasing return at the end of 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, setting the wheels in motion for a follow-up that has yet to be officially confirmed, although director Danny Boyleremains positive that it will be made. Although Murphy’s appearance in The Bone Temple wasn’t enough to help the film achieve financial success, his other major performance in the first half of the year was a huge hit.
