Jason Sudeikis is opening up about his split from longtime partner Olivia Wilde.
The 51-year-old actor and the 42-year-old actress were together for nearly ten years before going their separate ways in late 2020.
During an appearance on the latest episode of the Talk Easy podcast with Sam Fragoso, Jason was asked what the media got wrong in coverage about their breakup.

“Oh, gosh. I mean, a million little things,” the Ted Lasso star shared. “But, but what’s interesting is that it allows you capacity for empathy for when others go through those. And you need not be as lucky as we are to get to do something that we love.”
“I don’t wish it on anyone because I don’t think it really moves the needle,” Jason continued. “And to be clear, this isn’t like, all evil is just misunderstood or something like that. I just mean these, interpersonal situations that then get portrayed as being these binary situations of right and wrong… It’s always more complicated, more human than that.”

Also on the podcast, Jason praised Olivia‘s work. Since their split, in addition to acting in projects, Olivia has continued to direct and produce more films.
“Olivia loves what she does and is very, very good at and always has been. I’m thrilled for her,” Jason gushed.
According to Variety, Olivia‘s latest movie, The Invite, is getting Oscar buzz, with her potentially being nominated for Best Director and Best Actress, which if she wins, could mark the first time a woman has directed herself to an acting nomination.
Jason and Olivia first started dating in 2011 and got engaged in 2012, but never married. In 2021, he revealed the exact timeline of when they broke up, which lines up with the time that their split was announced.
The former couple also shares two children together, son Otis, 12, and daughter Daisy, 10. This past summer, Jason and his two children made a rare public appearance together at the Ted Lasso season four premiere in Los Angeles.
