One of the best British mysteries ever made is leaving Netflix soon

Broadchurch is one of the best British TV mysteries of all time, and for the last year or so, the hit series starring David Tennant, Olivia Colman, Jodie Whittaker, and more has been available to stream stateside on Netflix.

Unfortunately, Netflix has revealed Broadchurch, and all three seasons, will be leaving the streaming service very soon. Your last day to watch Broadchurch on Netflix is Halloween, which is Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026.

That’s the bad news, obviously. It’s always a bummer when good shows exit Netflix because it means, largely, that fewer viewers have access to those great shows. While Netflix is cranking out new shows and movies, basically, weekly at this point, it’s still comforting to know that there are incredible shows, some of the best of all time in this case, available at the touch of the play button.

The good news, though, is that you now have a chance to watch Broadchurch before it leaves Netflix US at the end of the month! Even if you’ve already seen the series, it makes for an incredible rewatch to catch the little details you missed the first time or to watch some of the best performers in the business put on a show.

For those who don’t know, Broadchurch was created by Chris Chibnall, and the series aired on ITV from 2013 to 2017. The series tells the story of the investigation to find the killer of a child in a small fictional and picturesque town of Broadchurch on the southwestern coast of England.

You won’t find many casts better than this one. Olivia Colman leads the charge as Detective Sargeant Ellie Miller, alongside David Tennant as Detective Inspector Alec Hardy. The duo is responsible for solving this case and trying to bring healing and justice to the community.

Obviously, everyone knows Colman and Tennant. They’ve each starred in several Netflix projects, including The Crown, Marvel’s Jessica Jones, and more. The rest of the cast is awesome, as well, and includes Jodie Whittaker, Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey, Andrew Buchan, who stars in Netflix’s Black Doves, Arthur Darville, Carolyn Pickles, Charlotte Beaumont, Arthur Darvill, and more.

As mentioned, there are three seasons of Broadchurch on Netflix, and that’s the complete series. Each season only consists of eight episodes, so you should be able to fly through this series before the end of the month. It’ll take some persistence, but I’m confident you’ll be able to make it happen. It’s a little more than one episode per day if you start right now.

There’s a huge market for shows like Broadchurch on Netflix. Harlan Coben’s Netflix shows are quite similar to Broadchurch in a lot of ways, so if you’re a big fan of shows like I Will Find You, Fool Me Once, and more, you’re really going to enjoy Broadchurch. It’s a much better show than those I mentioned.

Remember, the last day to watch Broadchurch is on Oct. 31, 2026, on Netflix US. If you’re looking for a new show to watch right now, this is a great pick! We’ll share more news about other shows and movies leaving Netflix as we find out. Stay tuned!
