DAZN Is Adding NBA Games to Its Streaming Service This Fall

Some NBA fans may need to add DAZN to their streaming rotation. The streaming service announced Thursday that it has reached a deal with the Orlando Magic to become the team’s exclusive direct-to-consumer streaming partner for the 2026-27 season.

Beginning later this month, Magic fans in Central and North Florida will be able to stream locally broadcast games through a new Magic subscription on DAZN. The deal covers all locally broadcast preseason and regular-season games, with one major exception: games that are exclusive to ABC, ESPN, NBC, Peacock, or Prime Video will stay on those national services.

“We are excited to partner with DAZN to serve as our direct-to-consumer streaming partner for live games, replays, pregame and postgame coverage, and original programming,” Magic President of Business Operations Charlie Freeman said.

What Magic Fans Will Get on DAZN

Live games, alternative feeds, replays, pregame and postgame coverage, and original Magic content will be available through a new team-branded subscription service launching on DAZN later this month.

The Magic’s broadcast team will also return for the 2026-27 season. Dante Marchitelli will serve as the full-time play-by-play voice, with former Magic forward Jeff Turner returning as analyst. Kendra Douglas will return for her fourth season as the team’s reporter.

Magic fans will have several options when the new service launches:

  • Monthly Pass: $19.99 per month
  • Season Pass: $119.99 for the season
  • Monthly Pass Ultimate: $24.99 per month
  • Season Pass Ultimate: $139.99 for the season
  • Free trial: 7 days

The standard plans include the team’s locally broadcast games, while the Ultimate plans add features such as multiview, alternate camera angles and feeds, and additional concurrent streams. Season-ticket holders will receive 20% off the regular Season Pass.

The Magic’s $19.99 monthly pass is separate from DAZN’s regular subscription. Fans can buy the Magic service on its own or add it to an existing DAZN account.

You May Not Need DAZN for Every Game

For cord cutters,  DAZN isn’t required to watch all of Orlando’s local games. Last month, the Magic announced a local broadcast deal with Cox Media Group, which will put games on WRDQ-TV 27 in Orlando, with select games also airing on WFTV Channel 9. Those broadcasts will be available free with an antenna.

With the DAZN partnership, local fans can now watch Magic games without a traditional cable package or streaming bundle via free over-the-air television or the new direct-to-consumer service. However, fans outside the Magic’s local broadcast territory will continue to use NBA League Pass or the NBA’s national broadcast partners.

“Coupled with the Cox Media Group (WRDQ TV 27, WFTV Channel 9), DAZN will provide Magic fans tremendous access to the team,” Freeman said.

DAZN Is Making a Bigger Push Into U.S. Sports

The Magic deal comes as DAZN is rapidly expanding its presence in the U.S.

Back in July, it was reported that up to 10 NBA teams could potentially move their local streaming rights to DAZN as the company pursued a much larger role in the league’s local media business. Orlando is now one of the first pieces of that reported expansion to become official.

“DAZN is transforming how fans follow their local teams, and partnering with the Orlando Magic is another important step in that strategy,” DAZN Group CEO Shay Segev said.

DAZN has also been making moves outside of the NBA, with the company’s recent agreement to acquire EverPass Media, a distributor of sports to bars, restaurants and other commercial venues, including NFL Sunday Ticket. And recently, DAZN launched a new NCAA College Sports channel internationally featuring college football and basketball, including extensive postseason coverage.

With the Magic now joining the platform, DAZN is moving beyond its long-running focus on sports such as boxing and international soccer and becoming a much bigger player in U.S. sports. It now has relationships and distribution technology tied to sports from the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, MLS, NASCAR, college sports and other leagues.

Another Sign of the NBA’s RSN Shakeup

The Magic deal is also part of a much bigger change in how NBA teams distribute local games.

The collapse of the traditional regional sports network model has left teams looking for new ways to reach fans. Instead of simply replacing an RSN with another pay-TV network, teams are increasingly turning to free broadcast television, direct-to-consumer streaming, or a combination of both.

For now, Orlando is taking a hybrid approach. Fans in Central and North Florida can pay $19.99 a month or $119.99 for a season of locally broadcast Magic games on DAZN, but many games will also remain available for free with an antenna.

“Fans want a modern, simple and reliable way to watch the team they love, and DAZN’s partnership with the Magic delivers an unmatched experience. DAZN’s innovative technology platform and the Magic’s strong local presence will create a service that enhances engagement, expands reach, and establishes a new standard for how teams connect with their fan community,” Segev said.

DAZN’s growing list of NBA deals could become even more significant as the league works toward a centralized local streaming solution for the 2027-28 season. The Magic could be just the beginning as the DTC platform continues to add major U.S. sports rights to its expanding portfolio.
