The Best of Korean Entertainment Officially Has a New Free Streaming Home

Just about every major streaming platform has bolstered its selection of K-dramas amid their growing international popularity. Ever since Squid Game became a breakout, globe-conquering success, Netflix has pushed its chips into the space and built one of the biggest collections of Korean titles globally, though Hulu, Disney+, Prime Video, and Apple TV have all explored the industry to varying degrees, landing hits like Tempest, Marry My Husband, and Dr. Brain. Even free ad-supported streaming services, like Tubi, have built dedicated selections of classics to explore. Samsung TV Plus is now looking to double down on all manner of K-content itself.

Two years ago, Samsung made a massive commitment to K-dramas by adding over 4,000 hours of film and television titles from the country on-demand and spanning a wide range of genres, from crime to romance, action, and more. With content coming from acclaimed producers like CJ ENM and NEW ID, it gave users on Samsung Smart TVs and other devices access to one of the biggest catalogs of Korean entertainment on the market. Collider can exclusively announce that Samsung’s global subscription-free platform is now expanding its lineup further with a mix of beloved movies, reality competition, and microdramas galore, all rolling out over the rest of the year. It’ll begin on Wednesday, October 28, with the launch of a new weekly “K-Wave Wednesdays” series on the Movie Hub channel that will spotlight ten can’t-miss overseas hits worth discovering before 2026 is up.

The inaugural edition of the new series will be Jang Jae-hyun‘s haunting Korean blockbuster Exhuma, debuting back in 2024. Releasing on Samsung TV Plus just in time for Halloween, it brings eerie occult vibes as it follows a shaman and her protégé investigating a mysterious illness affecting the first-born children of a wealthy family. They eventually trace the supernatural affliction to an ancient family grave on sacred ground and begin plans to relocate the remains immediately, unaware of the horrors soon to fall upon them for messing with the burial site. The film terrified audiences beyond Korean borders and became an international success, with a strong 93% score on Rotten Tomatoes, giving the platform a big title to kick things off. The full list of titles to follow in the weeks ahead can be found below.

Collider Exclusive · 8 Questions · 2 Minutes
What Is Your Biggest Horror Nightmare?
Elm Street · Chucky · Scream · The Conjuring

Four horror franchises. Four completely different ways of scaring you. One waits until you fall asleep. One makes sure nobody believes you. One is already in your group of friends. And one is in the house with your family. Answer eight quick questions about how you actually watch horror, and find out which nightmare was built for you.

😴Elm Street(Freddy Krueger)

🧸Chucky(Child’s Play)

📞Scream(Ghostface)

🕯️The Conjuring(The Warren Files)

01

Which horror scene makes you cover your eyes?
Four classic images. One of them is worse than the others for you.

02

You are home alone and you hear a noise. First thought?
Everybody has one. It arrives before you have decided anything.

03

Which horror movie rule would you break first?
Everybody thinks they would survive. Almost nobody actually does.

04

Something genuinely frightening happens. What do you do?
Not in a film. In your actual living room, tonight.

05

How do you actually watch a horror film?
Be honest about this one. Nobody is checking.

06

Somebody offers you serious money. Which do you still refuse?
The amount does not matter. There is one on this list you are not doing.

07

Which feeling stays with you a week after the film?
Good horror does not stop when the credits do.

08

Something wakes you at 3am. What is the worst possibility?
Eight questions in, this is the one that decides your nightmare.

The Lights Just Went Out
Your Nightmare Is…

Four franchises, four completely different ways of getting underneath
your skin. This is the one built out of your particular fear, why it works so well on you, and what
it would leave behind.

A Nightmare on Elm Street · Since 1984

Elm Street

Your nightmare does not wait outside the door. It waits for you
to close your eyes, which you are going to have to do eventually, because nobody has ever
won that particular argument.

  • Freddy is horror’s cruellest idea: a threat that lives in the one place you cannot
guard, cannot lock, and cannot avoid forever.
  • You are the one who is fine during the film and wide awake at two in the morning. Your
own head is where this does its damage.
  • These films understood exhaustion as a horror engine. The kids on Elm Street do not lose
because they are weak. They lose because they are tired.
  • You can lock every door in the house. You still have to sleep.

Child’s Play · Chucky · Since 1988

Chucky

Your nightmare is not really the doll. It is the face of the
person you tell, and the way they decide, very kindly, that you have imagined all of it.

  • Chucky works precisely because he is absurd. That is the trap: the more accurately you
describe him, the less anybody is going to believe you.
  • You are the one shouting at the screen because the characters are not listening. You
know that feeling from real life too.
  • The franchise is at its best when the adults in the room are the real obstacle, and you
    have met those adults.
  • By the time somebody finally believes you, you will have handled most of it on your own.

Scream · Ghostface · Since 1996

Scream

Your nightmare has your number, knows your name, and has almost
certainly been inside your house before. The worst part is that you already know them.

  • Scream is the only one of these where the killer takes the mask off and turns out to be
somebody who was at the party.
  • You are the person who calls the twist out loud before it lands. You watch people the
    same way you watch films.
  • The franchise made the rules of horror part of the plot, which means the survivors are
the ones paying attention. You would be paying attention.
  • Everybody is a suspect, including the person who just offered to walk you home.

The Conjuring · The Warren Files · Since 2013

The Conjuring

Your nightmare is not really about you. It is about the people
asleep down the hall, and the feeling that whatever is here is not interested in leaving.

  • The Conjuring films are domestic horror. The house, the family, the perfectly ordinary
room that quietly stops feeling ordinary.
  • Your instinct is to get everybody into one room. Your fear is protective rather than
personal, which is rarer than it sounds.
  • This is the one franchise where belief is the weapon. The people who come through it are
the ones who are not alone and refuse to be.
  • Whatever is here did not come for you. It came for the household, and you are the one
    standing in the hallway.

Samsung TV Plus Adds an Entire K-Drama Short-Form Slate and More

Alongside K-Wave Wednesdays, Samsung will bring a Korean reality television fixture to its FAST platform on November 4 in the form of Iron Squad Season 3. The hit series pits members of various branches of Korean special forces against one another in challenges designed by military experts to push them to the limits of their mind, body, and cooperation with their fellow operatives and determine who the best unit in the country is. Users will be able to find it on the All Action channel.

That’s not all, though. December will mark the launch of the Lezhin Snack original short-form slate on-demand in the U.S. and on a dedicated microdrama channel in Korea, letting users pore through a selection of bite-sized mystery, comedy, romance, and more K-dramas that were designed to be watched from anywhere. With Samsung TV Plus being more widely available than ever from web browsers and other devices using a Samsung account, the titles will be easy to dig into no matter where they’re being watched. The full list of thirteen new microdramas can be found below.

  • A Cute Guy from Korea (K-연하남 주의보)
  • Blood Strangers (세상에 없는 이웃 : 뱀파이어 남친들)
  • My Baby Daddy Is My Best Friend (애 아빠는 남사친)
  • White Angel Has No Wings: Fallen Angel (하얀천사에게 날개는 없다: 타락소녀)
  • Deathwish Covenant: After-School Revenge (죽거나 펀치 : 방과 후 복수)
  • OX No Egg Man (OX 유정남)
  • Touch Me If You Can (물건이네 물건이야?!: 나를 만져줘)
  • Substance of Vanity (작은 성 : 시들지 않는 꽃)
  • My Unstoppable Gaydar! (피치못할 게이다!)
  • The Savior’s Time (구주의 시간: 훔쳐보기)
  • Naughty by Arrangement (엉큼한 맞선)
  • High School Boy (남고소년)
  • The Secret Roommate (내 동거남의 특별한 조건)

Samsung TV Plus kicks off its new K-Wave Wednesdays series with Exhuma tomorrow, October 28. New movies will arrive weekly, along with Iron Squad in November and the collection of microdramas in December.
